You will provide Equipment Engineering support to the Epitaxy Shift Equipment Engineers and Technicians. This will include continuous improvement projects, day-to-day production support, fault finding and repair of production equipment and associated systems, and working with process gas systems including the use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Duties:
*Lead equipment improvements, upgrades, and assist with installations.
*Work on MOVPE and associated equipment to minimise production downtime, including phosphorous-trap and gas cylinder changes using SCBA.
*Operate forklift trucks (training provided).
*Oversee chemicals, gases, and spare parts control, including chemical fills and waste management.
*Provide technical direction and instruction to Shift Technicians on procedures, safety, and best practice.
*Support logistics projects (equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganisation, shipping).
*Assist with shutdown activities (some weekend overtime may be required).
*Liaise with equipment and spares suppliers, specialist service providers, and supervise external contractors and field service engineers.
*Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to maximise equipment utilisation and uptime.
*Adhere to all site safety and environmental procedures.
* Support the site emergency response function.

To be considered you will have the following experience: *Electrical engineering experience including low and high voltage work.
*Minimum 5 years’ experience within a Wafer Fab or Epitaxy Engineering environment.
*HNC or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent time-served apprenticeship).
*Strong understanding of pneumatic systems and PLC operation.
*Working knowledge of vacuum systems including high-vac principles, pumps, and leak-checking.
*Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring and mechanical schematics.
*Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and gases.
*Experience with Aixtron MOVPE reactors or other CVD equipment.
*Semiconductor process gas experience including Mass Flow Controllers.
*Experience with dry abatement systems.
