Job Description:
INTERIM FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Leicester
Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Interim Finance Controller to provide strong financial leadership and operational support during a transitional period. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring robust financial controls, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting to support business decision-making.
This is a part-time role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who can quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
*Oversee monthly management accounts preparation and reporting
*Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information
*Deliver variance analysis, forecasts, and financial insights
*Support budgeting and reforecasting processes
*Prepare board and management reporting packs
Financial Control & Compliance
*Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
*Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accounting requirements
*Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital
*Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and review processes
*Support audit processes where required
Operational Finance
*Supervise finance team members where applicable
*Review payroll, VAT returns, and statutory submissions
*Identify process improvements and efficiencies
*Support systems or process changes during the interim period
Business Partnering
*Provide financial guidance to senior management
*Support commercial decision-making with financial analysis
*Assist with strategic projects or change initiatives as required
Technical skills / abilities / competencies required
· Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
· Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance lead
· Experience in interim or contract roles desirable
· Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
· Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to quickly understand business operations and priorities
