Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Building Services

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of complex projects across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, education, healthcare and mixed-use developments. You’ll work alongside a multi-disciplinary engineering team, contributing technical expertise, leadership and high-quality design output.

What You’ll Be Doing
*Producing, reviewing and leading electrical building services designs, including power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, containment, and sustainable electrical solutions
*Providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring design quality across all project stages
*Collaborating closely with mechanical, sustainability, BIM and project management teams
*Engaging with clients, architects and external stakeholders to support project delivery and maintain strong professional relationships
*Ensuring designs meet current regulations, industry standards and best practice guidance
*Supporting the organisation’s commitment to low-carbon engineering, net-zero strategies and innovative MEP solutions
What We’re Looking For
*Strong experience in electrical building services engineering within a consultancy environment
*Proven ability to lead projects or significant design packages independently
*Excellent knowledge of UK electrical design standards, building regulations and sector guidance
*Proficiency in Amtech/Trimble, AutoCAD, Revit and lighting design software
*Confident communicator with excellent client-facing and team-working skills
*Positive, proactive, solution-focused mindset
*Degree-qualified or equivalent; IEng/CEng or working towards registration preferred
