Job Description:
OverviewThis role sits within a central finance function that supports multiple business locations across the UK. The team provides high-quality financial insight, governance, and systems expertise to enable informed decision-making, drive operational efficiency, and manage financial risk.
About the RoleThe Finance Systems Manager is responsible for the governance, administration, and continuous improvement of core finance systems. The role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial data while enabling business growth through system optimisation, automation, and strong control frameworks.
Please note: This is a highly technical finance systems role. Applications will only be considered from candidates with strong, hands-on technical expertise in finance systems administration, specifically within enterprise finance platforms.
Key Responsibilities*Own the administration, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of core finance systems, including Coda, SAP Concur, Microsoft 365, and P2P/S2C platforms.
*Govern system authorisation frameworks and approval hierarchies, ensuring segregation of duties and robust financial controls.
*Support the onboarding of new legal entities and acquisitions through system setup, master data configuration, and access controls.
*Maintain and manage general ledger structures, cost centre hierarchies, and core finance master data.
*Drive automation and optimisation initiatives, including the use of AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency and control.
*Enhance financial and operational reporting, ensuring data is structured, accessible, and decision-ready.
*Provide critical systems support during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles.
*Manage accounting period controls, including roll-forwards and posting access.
*Partner closely with Finance and IT to resolve system issues and deliver system enhancements and change initiatives.
Essential Experience & SkillsThis role is not suitable for candidates without deep technical finance systems experience. To be considered, you must demonstrate:
*Strong technical expertise in finance systems administration, ideally including Coda, SAP Concur, and P2P/S2C platforms.
*In-depth knowledge of finance system controls, ledger structures, cost centres, period management, and financial close processes.
*Proven experience configuring finance systems, managing master data, approval workflows, and onboarding new entities.
*A track record of delivering system improvements, automation, and efficiency gains.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex systems issues.
*Experience operating within a controlled, audit-focused environment.
*Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Finance and IT teams.
*Experience delivering system upgrades and enhancements, including testing, documentation, and end-user adoption.
