Interim Assistant Management Accountant | High-Growth Ecommerce Scale-Up | Remote
Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, purpose-driven ecommerce business in their search for an Interim Assistant Management Accountant for a 6 month contract. Operating across multiple international markets, the business is continuing to scale rapidly and is looking to strengthen its finance team with a motivated, detail-oriented individual who is keen to develop in a dynamic environment.
This role is well suited to someone early in their accounting career who enjoys working with data, supporting month-end processes, and contributing to continuous improvement within a growing finance function.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will support core accounting and reporting processes across the group. You’ll be involved in month-end close, management reporting, reconciliations, and accounts payable, while also helping to improve systems, automation, and financial controls as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
* Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
* Perform balance sheet and multi-currency bank reconciliations across several entities.
* Maintain and review accounts payable ledgers, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
* Support VAT-related activities, including French VAT reporting, working with internal teams and external providers where required.
* Reconcile data from ecommerce platforms and payment providers, ensuring accuracy across high-volume transaction flows.
* Maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to support operational teams across ecommerce, logistics, and marketing.
* Assist with cashflow tracking, forecasting, budgeting, and reforecasting activities.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and finance system enhancements.
* Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the Finance Director and senior stakeholders.
What We Need to See (Essential)
* Experience in a junior accounting or finance role within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and confidence working withlarge datasets.
* Solid Excel skills (including lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis).
* Good understanding of core accounting processes and reconciliations.
* Organised, proactive, and eager to learn in a scaling business.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
