Job Description:
General Assistants - Combination of FOH and Kitchen
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our brand-new Burmese restaurant in London. Our mission is to create more than just a place to eat; we are building a warm, community-focused dining destination that celebrates the rich flavours of Myanmar while delivering person-centred hospitality.
At the heart of our service is a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers. We believe that every meal is an opportunity to provide a friendly, engaging experience that brings a smile to their faces. We are now looking for a dedicated General Assistant who shares these values to join us on this exciting journey from day one.

Enhanced Key Responsibilities
1. Front-of-House & Resident Hospitality
*Service Excellence: Deliver proactive, warm service in the dining and bar areas, ensuring every resident feels valued and at home.
*Person-Centred Care: Tailor your communication and service style to support older guests, including those with mobility or sensory needs, ensuring a dignified and joyful experience.
*Dining Support: Manage table settings, assist with menu explanations (bridging the gap between Burmese culture and resident preferences), and handle payments or dietary requests with precision.
*Safety Monitoring: Observe customers during mealtimes to ensure their comfort and safety, reporting any changes in wellbeing to the management team.
2. Kitchen Support & Operations
*Culinary Assistance: Assist the Head Chef with food preparation, including portioning traditional Burmese ingredients and preparing garnishes.
*Environmental Health: Execute deep-cleaning schedules for the kitchen, storage areas, and dining room to maintain a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating.
*Dish Management: Operate industrial dishwashers and manage manual pot washing to ensure a steady supply of clean equipment during busy service windows.
*Stock Control: Assist with receiving deliveries, checking for quality, and ensuring the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) rotation of authentic Burmese products.

Expanded Candidate Requirements
*Language Skills:Fluency in Burmese and English is mandatory to facilitate smooth kitchen communication and provide authentic cultural storytelling to our customers.
*Personal Attributes: A high level of emotional intelligence, patience, and a "can-do" attitude. You must be comfortable working in a dual-capacity role that switches between physical kitchen work and high-level customer service.
*Physical Stamina: Ability to remain on your feet for long shifts and carry out manual handling tasks (lifting trays/stock) safely.
*Legal & Safety:
*Right to Work: You must provide original documentation for a UK Government Right to Work check.
*Health & Safety Awareness: Willingness to undergo training in COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and Manual Handling (provided by us).
*References: Provision of two professional references, including at least one from your most recent employer.
Compensation
*Hourly Rate: Negotiable based on experience and language proficiency.
*Payment: All hours worked are paid, with a clear system for tracking overtime.

We will conduct the interview process in two stages. The first stage will be held via Microsoft Teams, and the second stage will be an in-person interview.
