Production Operative – Newton Heath (M40)
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join our well-established client based in Newton Heath (M40). Shifts
• 12-hour rotating shift pattern
• 4 day shifts: 06:30 – 18:30
• 4 days off
• 4 night shifts: 18:30 – 06:30
• 4 days off
• Pattern repeats
Rates of Pay
• £12.75 per hour
• Pay increase after 12 weeks

Day-to-Day Duties
As a Production Operative, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Working on a production line within a hot food manufacturing environment
• Overseeing machinery and ensuring efficient production output
• Packing products to specification and carrying out quality checks
• Responding to machine or product issues and reporting to supervisors
• Completing all relevant production paperwork accurately
• Maintaining high safety and hygiene standards in line with H&S and Food Safety regulations
• Setting up and operating bagging machines, sealers, check weighers, metal detectors and basket fillers
• Monitoring product quality (weight, temperature, etc.) and recording information
• Ensuring equipment is safe and operating correctly, escalating issues where required
Essential Skills
To be successful as a Production Operative, you will need:
• Communicative level of English
• Safety boots and hi-vis (PPE required)
• Minimum 6 months’ experience in one of the following:
• Bakery production
• Food manufacturing
• Factory manufacturing environment
• Machine operating
Desirable Experience
• Good communication skills and positive attitude
• Good level of numeracy skills
• Flexible approach to work
• Food Safety and Health & Safety knowledge
Training Provided
• 6-week structured training programme
• Interview and site tour prior to starting
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
