From the coast of Southport to the bustling schools of Bootle, Sefton’s secondary schools are looking for Learning Support Assistants.
Are you an experienced support professional who can turn a challenging lesson into a breakthrough moment? We have the schools, the students, and the roles to match your talent.
Whether you are looking for day-to-day supply to reclaim your work-life balance or a long-term placement to truly embed yourself in a school community, we have high-priority vacancies across the borough.
We are actively hiring for schools across:
*South Sefton: L20 (Bootle), L21 (Litherland), L30 (Netherton)
*Central Sefton: L22 (Waterloo), L23 (Crosby), L31 (Maghull), L37 (Formby)
*North Sefton: PR8 & PR9 (Southport), PR4 (Ainsdale)
Key Duties:
*Provide one-to-one support to students who need extra help with their work.
*Work with small groups of pupils to keep them focused on the task.
*Explain the teacher’s instructions in a simpler way for students.
*Help students with their reading, writing, or practical activities.
*Help the teacher manage classroom behaviour and keep students on track.
*Prepare learning materials and hand out equipment during lessons.
*Monitor student progress and give feedback to the class teacher.
*Support student’s well-being and confidence within the school day.
*Supervise students during break times and between lesson changes.
Requirements:
*Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people (classroom support, coaching, or youth work) is preferred.
*Attributes: A patient, encouraging nature and the ability to explain tasks clearly.
*Compliance: You must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check and have the right to work in the UK.
