Maintenance Manager
Venn Group is supporting a leading university with the recruitment of two skilled Maintenance Managers to oversee the effective delivery of reactive, planned, and statutory maintenance across trades and electrical teams.
This role is central to ensuring safe, compliant, and customer-focused maintenance operations, leading multi-disciplinary teams and driving continuous improvement in maintenance systems and service delivery.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead multi-disciplinary trades and electrical teams and oversee the effective operation of maintenance management systems.
The successful candidate will provide strong operational leadership, ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, and act as super-user for CAFM systems—ensuring accurate data, insightful reporting, and efficient workflow management.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
*Lead, supervise, and motivate teams to deliver safe, efficient reactive and planned maintenance.
*Manage workflow allocation, schedules, and call-out rosters to meet SLAs.
*Ensure Health & Safety compliance across all maintenance activity, including PPE use, statutory inspections, plant and equipment safety, and contractor oversight.
*Maintain competency records, training logs and induction processes for technical staff.
*Collaborate closely with Estates, Helpdesk, Finance, Projects and other operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Systems & Data Management
*Act as CAFM super-user, configuring workflows, user access and reporting dashboards.
*Ensure accurate maintenance, compliance and financial records.
*Produce KPIs, SLA reports, trend analysis and performance dashboards to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Financial & Procurement Oversight
*Support budget management, forecasting and financial reporting for maintenance operations.
*Ensure cost tracking, recharging and stock recording are accurate and audit-ready.
*Oversee purchase orders, contractor invoices and procurement activity, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
Health & Safety
*Ensure safe working practices for all staff and contractors.
*Maintain statutory compliance with LOLER/PUWER, HAVS monitoring, vehicle checks, waste disposal and other regulatory requirements.
*Support accident and incident investigations and champion a culture of reporting and continuous improvement.


About You – Essential Skills & Experience
*Strong leadership and management skills with experience supervising multi-disciplinary technical teams.
*Proven experience working with CAFM systems.
*Experience delivering reactive, planned and statutory maintenance in a complex environment.
*Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
*Strong organisational ability, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
*Health & Safety awareness and experience overseeing safe systems of work.
*A proactive, solution-focused and collaborative working style.
Desirable:
*IOSH/NEBOSH/SMSTS or equivalent
*Experience managing teams
