Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join a growing law firm as a Senior Compliance Assistant. This newly created, part-time position is based within a high-performing Finance team and offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the firm’s compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts Rules and associated regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the all areas of finance, you will provide essential support to ensure the firm remains compliant with regulatory standards, internal policies, and best practice. The role also involves regular interaction with fee earners and administrative teams across the business.
Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will assist in monitoring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules, investigating potential breaches, maintaining compliance registers, and supporting internal and external audit processes. This position is ideally suited to someone with experience in a regulated professional services environment who is confident working with senior stakeholders and is comfortable handling sensitive data. The role offers broad exposure to regulatory compliance activity within a compliance matters with discretion and professionalism.
Skills and experience required
*A strong educational background, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths.
*Experience working within a professional services or legal environment, ideally in a compliance-focused role.
*Confident communicating with senior management and partners, with the ability to influence and support change.
*Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, with a good working knowledge of Excel.
*Resilient, composed, and professional in approach, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
