Assembly Team Leader

Job Description:
We seek an experienced production team leader with a background ideally in electronics, or detailed asssembly environments. This is a busy, hands on role for someone already combining leadership skills with hands on manufacturing, this newly created role will require someone to take responsibility for the set up and efficient running of the production facility on a daily basis. Our client is committed to investing in people, offering clear pathways for professional growth and career progression into higher-level management or technical specialist roles for staff who demonstrate leadership excellence.
Production Responsibilities - you will need to be the "expert" on site, learning every aspect of all of the assembly processes, this is essential in order to:
• Train and mentor new temp/perm production staff
• Attend daily production meetings in order to understand workload priorities and schedule work accordingly
• Liaise with the Production Manager regarding staffing requirements
• Brief your team on project specifics and distribute work to staff members whilst giving consideration to their individual strengths
• Pick bulk issue components required for completing works orders every day
• Take full responsibility for quality control
• Apply lean manufacturing principles in order to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement in all areas of production
KPIs
O Ensure workbenches are fully prepared by 07:30am every morning
O Ensure production area to be left clean, tidy and organised at the end of every day
Person fit - our client will consider applications from people who have gained experience from time spent in role also.
Core General Education including;
• NVQ / SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Performing Manufacturing Operations
• BTEC Level 2 or 3 in Engineering / Manufacturing
• EAL Level 3 Certificate in Team Leadership (Manufacturing)
• Leadership & Management Certifications
• Essential Safety & Compliance
• Process Improvement/Lean Methodology
