Accounts Assistant
Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking for a new challenge in the accounts sector? We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic team.
This role involves managing key financial processes, including responsibilities related to CIS, VAT, payroll duties, and managing petty cash. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives with variety and is keen to make a significant impact in their next role.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
*Manage and process payments under the Construction Industry Scheme, including verification of subcontractors and handling CIS deductions.
*Maintain accurate financial records and assist in the preparation of monthly accounts.
*Reconcile bank statements and manage invoice processing.
*Support the accounts team in the preparation of year-end accounts and audits.
*Liaise with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and up to date.
*Handle queries related to accounts payable and receivable.
*Process payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries.
*Manage and reconcile petty cash, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and authorised.
*Adhoc admin duties
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
*Strong understanding of VAT and CIS regulations would be a plus
*Experience with payroll processes, petty cash management and invoicing
*Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
*Open to adhoc administration duties
*Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
*Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
*Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Must be happy with a fulltime office position
