Job Description:
Junior/Semi-Senior Accountant
*Job Type: Full-time (Part-time available, 28-30 hours)
*Location: Cambridge
*Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Our client is a respected local accountancy practice with a newly created position for a Junior/Semi-Senior Accountant to support their business growth. This role is ideal for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in a local practice who are looking to advance their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Engage in a mix of accountancy tasks including VAT, audit, and tax responsibilities, with a focus on Making Tax Digital (MTD).
*Serve a wide range of clients, including charities, and conduct a significant number of audits relative to the firm’s size.
*Utilise strong Excel skills for various accounting tasks; familiarity with IRIS, Xero, Sage, and Quickbooks is advantageous.
*Provide occasional administrative support and other office tasks.
*Collaborate across the team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to engage in both junior and more advanced roles as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*1-2 years of experience in accountancy within a local practice.
*AAT Level 3 qualification or higher; candidates moving up from apprentice level pay are encouraged to apply.
*Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
*Familiarity with Xero, Sage, IRIS, and Quickbooks is a bonus.
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*Driving licence and own car are beneficial but not essential.
