Are you a technically strong, Qualified Accountant operating in a varied month end accounting role, or working within a mid-tier firm and looking for your first move into industry as a Financial Accountant?

The role:
The successful candidate will lead and develop a high-quality technical accounting function, ensuring robust, compliant and efficient financial processes across the Group. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will actively contribute to the Group’s financial strategy while acting as a trusted technical expert across financial accounting, statutory reporting and controls.


You will sit at the centre of finance in a fast-paced and exciting business, owning the month end cycle and leading a team of two, operating within a wider finance team 10.


Key Responsibilities:
*Own and deliver the monthly accounting and reporting cycle (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow)
*Produce insightful monthly reporting and analysis for Senior Management
*Maintain and enhance balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations, fixed assets, leases and depreciation policies
*Assess and implement upcoming accounting standard changes
*Lead a robust and efficient statutory audit process, aligned to Group reporting timelines
*Prepare position papers on complex or judgmental accounting matters
*Act as the key point of contact for external auditors
*Develop, implement and maintain Group accounting policies
*Ensure strong, resilient and enabling financial controls across the organisation
*Support adherence to financial risk management frameworks


The Ideal Candidate:
*Technically strong Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
*Significant Post qualification experience in financial accounting and taxation
*Proven experience advising complex technical accounting issues
*Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
*Confident communicator, comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels
*Resilient, organised and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in tight deadlines
*Experience in either an industry accounting role, or making a 1st move from a mid-tier practice
