An organisation based in London is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant on an initial 3 month contract to support their finance team during a busy period. This is a varied role offering strong exposure to month-end processes, financial reporting and stakeholder support. This role is inside IR35, paid through an Umbrella company.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Preparing and posting journals including income releases and accruals
*Supporting the production of monthly management accounts and investigating variances against budget
*Reviewing financial transactions to ensure accurate coding and budget alignment
*Assisting with budgeting and forecasting by liaising with budget holders
*Supporting system administration including user access and supplier setup
*Reviewing open purchase orders to support accurate commitment reporting
*Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
*Reconciling data imports from external systems and resolving variances
*Providing support across the finance team on ad hoc tasks as required
The successful candidate will have:
*Experience supporting management accounts and month-end processes
*Understanding of double entry bookkeeping, accruals and cost centres
*Experience with accounting systems and strong Excel skills
*Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
*Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
*Studying towards or interested in a professional accounting qualification (desirable)
*A proactive attitude and willingness to support across a busy finance function
