Head of Physical Education – The Role
A successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Havering is seeking to appoint an energetic and inspirational Head of Physical Education from September 2026.
This is more than a teaching post — it is a leadership opportunity to shape the sporting vision of the school, drive competitive success, and champion healthy, active lifestyles across the student body.
As Head of Physical Education, you will:
*Lead, manage and inspire the PE department across KS3–KS5
*Drive high standards in both practical and theoretical PE at GCSE and A Level
*Develop and expand a strong extracurricular and competitive sports programme
*Increase student engagement and participation in clubs, fixtures and tournaments
*Identify and nurture sporting talent while promoting inclusion and teamwork
*Organise sports events, enrichment activities and whole-school competitions
*Contribute to wider school leadership and strategic development
