Job Description:
Waste Management Operative (Loading Shovel Operator)
Location: Barden
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Temporary – 3 Months + (ongoing potential)
Hours:37 hours per week
Job Purpose
To safely and efficiently operate the loading shovel and other plant/equipment at waste sites for Leicestershire County Council. The role supports the delivery of an effective waste management service by loading vehicles, maintaining the site, and ensuring safe operations at all times.
Key Responsibilities
*Operate the loading shovel and other site plant in accordance with safety procedures.
*Load vehicles with waste materials safely and efficiently.
*Assist with maintaining the site to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
*Follow all health and safety regulations, reporting any hazards or equipment issues promptly.
*Work collaboratively with site staff to support smooth daily operations.
Essential Requirements
*Loading Shovel Ticket/Certification

*Ability to work safely in a busy waste-site environment.
*Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
*Reliable, punctual, and proactive.
