Job Description:
Newstaff Employment Services has an opening for a Buyer to join our client’s successful construction company.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional looking to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in sourcing materials and services necessary for successful project delivery.
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that the materials and equipment needed for construction projects are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively.
Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining project timelines and budgets while ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Responsibilities *Manage the purchasing process for construction materials, tools, and services.
*Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; negotiate terms and pricing to secure optimal contracts.
*Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
*Collaborate with project managers to determine material needs and specifications.
*Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
*Ensure the timely delivery of materials to project sites to maintain schedules.
*Conduct regular reviews of procurement policies and practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
*Resolve any procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
Requirements
*Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist in the construction industry.
*Strong negotiation and communication skills.
*Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
*Understanding of construction materials, pricing, and procurement processes.
*Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
*Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £40,000 pa to £55,000 pa + (negotiable depending on experience)
