Senior Production Planner
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to join a manufacturing business operating in a fast-paced, demand-driven environment. This role is responsible for developing and managing robust production plans that align capacity, materials, and resources to meet customer demand, delivery targets, and operational efficiency goals.

As a senior member of the planning function, you will play a key role in improving planning processes, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain and production operations.

Key Responsibilities
*Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demand, service levels, and inventory targets.
*Balance capacity, labour, and material availability to optimise production flow and minimise disruption.
*Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure effective execution of plans.
*Monitor production performance, identify risks or constraints, and proactively implement mitigation plans.
*Support S&OP / MPS activities and contribute to demand and capacity planning discussions.
*Analyse planning data and KPIs to drive improvements in efficiency, delivery performance, and inventory control.
*Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and scheduling processes.
Requirements
*Proven experience in a production planning or manufacturing planning role within a manufacturing environment.
*Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems and planning methodologies.
*Ability to manage complex schedules and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
*Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
