Job Description:
Looking for candidate to start asap !
The role is full time and our normal requirements permanent staff are for 50% in the office. We could discuss this further with a suitable candidate but there will be a requirement to have an active presence in the office and to visit sites on a weekly basisPlanning Officer required to process a caseload of householder, LDC’s and prior approval applications.
Must have relevant Local Authority Development Management experience.
The candidate will require their own transport.
Role specification:
Experience of working within Planning or a planning related field
Basic knowledge of Development Management processes and procedures.
Familiar with a range of software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams
Organisation skills and able to be to deal with a large number of very simple, straightforward applications
Able to work independently on a simpler and less complex caseload with the support and mentoring when needed from managers
An effective communicator, both in writing and verbally; able to communicate complex information in a simple way.
Able to remain calm, professional and empathetic,
Resilient and able to work under pressure
Able to present at public meetings/planning committees
Basic negotiations skills:
Able to use a range of software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams along with specialist software such as Uniform, Enterprise, DMS
An ability to understand and assess technical drawings and straightforward technical reports
Able to interpret, understand and apply planning policy and legislation
The ability to deal with technical issues such as CIL, BNG and undertake Appropriate Assessments with support from Managers when necessary.
