Exams & Data Officer Required for Specialist College in Headingley

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a values-driven, inclusive setting that supports young people with additional needs and provides tailored education and preparation for adulthood. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the college’s operational and academic success, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), staff, governors and trustees.
About the Role
As the Exams & Data Officer, you will be an integral part of the college’s operational functions, taking responsibility for both examinations management and the strategic oversight of the college’s data systems.
Examinations responsibilities include:
*Ensuring the smooth running of all internal and external examinations
*Building and maintaining the examination timetable, ensuring all staff and students are informed of updates promptly
*Managing and submitting accurate exam entries in advance of awarding body deadlines
*Leading and coordinating a team of invigilators during examination periods
*Arranging external examinations and assessments, including vocational and alternative qualification pathways
*Ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
Data and MIS responsibilities include:
*Strategic and operational management of the college’s Management Information System (MIS)
*Setting up and maintaining internal databases to ensure data integrity, accuracy and compliance
*Producing and communicating performance data reports to SLT, governors and trustees
*Supporting EHCP-related data tracking, funding returns and statutory reporting
*Building strong working relationships with key data stakeholders, including attendance, safeguarding, curriculum and exams staff
*Supporting whole-college data analysis to inform student progress, outcomes and quality assurance
The Ideal Applicant Will Have:
*Experience working as an Exams Officer, Data Officer, or Manager within a school or college environment
*Strong knowledge of database management and a working knowledge of SIMS (or similar MIS systems)
*Experience working in a specialist, SEND, or alternative provision setting (desirable)
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
*A genuine passion for working within an inclusive educational environment
*A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one – full assistance provided)
