Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the Financial Control function of a leading investment bank in London. This role is ideal for newly qualified accountants looking to build a strong foundation in financial control within a dynamic, fast-paced financial services environment.
The Role As an Associate in Financial Control, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm’s financial reporting. You will work closely with front office, operations, and wider finance teams, gaining exposure to complex products and business activities across the bank.
Key Responsibilities *Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
*Perform balance sheet substantiation and variance analysis
*Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
*Support financial reporting to senior management and external stakeholders
*Partner with internal teams to investigate and resolve accounting issues
*Contribute to process improvement and control enhancement initiatives
Candidate Profile *Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAEW / ICAS or equivalent)
*Experience within financial services, audit, or an investment banking environment preferred
*Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
*Ability to manage deadlines in a high-pressure environment
*Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
