Job Description:
Our client is a long-established, FCA-regulated wealth management and financial services group with a national presence and London headquarters. The business combines investment management, financial planning and advisory services, operating within a strong governance framework across multiple regulated legal entities. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play an integral part in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining strong controls and delivering timely payroll operations. This is not a transactional processing role — you will be a trusted contributor within a collaborative and professional finance function.
The Role
*Support reporting on FCA-regulated investment entities
*Assist with month-end, quarterly and year-end close processes
*Prepare journals and perform balance sheet reconciliations
*Reconcile income streams and work-in-progress schedules
*Take ownership of payroll change data, journals and holiday accrual reconciliations
*Ensure payroll is processed accurately in partnership with HR and an outsourced provider
*Act as a professional contact for payroll queries
*Support audits and compliance requirements
*Provide day-to-day guidance to a finance apprentice
*Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance controls
You are dependable, organised and take pride in accuracy. You enjoy ownership and are motivated to broaden your exposure within a regulated financial environment.
Ideal Experience
*Accounting experience (AAT Level 2 or 3 or studying)
*Strong Excel capability (Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP)
*Experience with reconciliations and journals
*High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
*Professionalism when handling confidential information
*Clear communication skills and collaborative approach
*Confident taking responsibility and meeting deadlines
