School Caretaker
Secondary School | Newham, East London
Full-Time | All Year Round (Shift Pattern May Apply)
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to join our friendly and dedicated team at a thriving secondary school in Newham.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Opening and closing the school premises
*Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
*Ensuring the security of the buildings and grounds
*Monitoring health and safety compliance across the site
*Assisting with setting up rooms and equipment for events and exams
*Liaising with contractors and reporting any major repair needs
The Ideal Candidate Will:*Have previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience (school experience desirable)
*Possess good practical DIY skills
*Have a strong understanding of health and safety procedures
*Be organised, dependable, and able to work independently
*Have good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
