Job Description:
Are you a confident administrator who thrives during busy assessment periods? Do you enjoy being the go-to person who keeps processes moving and students supported in a fast-paced London university environment? Signature Recruitment is seeking a proactive Programme Officer to join a London higher education university on a temporary basis.
This full-time temporary role is expected to run for a minimum of 4–6 weeks, with potential to extend. Based in London, the position offers hybrid working, combining time on campus with remote working across the week. You will work standard full-time hours, Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £19.01 per hour plus holiday pay. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a varied Programme Officer role where no two days look the same. You will gain exposure to assessment processes, student casework and virtual learning systems, while working across two collaborative academic teams. It is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in accuracy and wants to strengthen their higher education experience in a well-structured environment. You will be trusted to manage your workload, supported by experienced colleagues, and equipped for both on-site and remote working.
Programme Officer - Key Responsibilities:*Manage multiple shared inboxes, ensuring responses within a three-day turnaround
*Process mitigating and extenuating circumstances using Outlook and internal systems
*Support assessment activity, including work within Keats (Moodle)
*Update virtual learning pages and complete assessment tasks from the previous teaching period
*Maintain detailed Excel trackers, transfer mark sheets and ensure data accuracy
*Coordinate tasks across systems while delivering excellent customer service
Programme Officer - Key Skills:*Strong programme administration experience within education or similar settings
*Confident Excel user with the ability to learn new systems quickly
*Clear communicator who understands priorities and escalates when needed
*Highly organised, accurate and able to manage competing deadlines
You will succeed in this position if you are proactive, dependable and calm under pressure. The team values people who ask questions, share workload and communicate openly. Previous London university experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your ability to adapt quickly and manage urgent tasks with care.
If you are looking for a rewarding short-term opportunity that will enhance your higher education experience and keep your skills sharp, we would love to hear from you. Apply today to be considered for this Programme Officer opportunity.
