Job Description:
Butler Rose is partnering with one of our clients in Milton Keynes to recruit an Accounts Assistant - Sales Ledger to support their team. This is a permanent, office-based role paying a salary of up to £27,000.
This is an evolving role supporting multiple branches, offering variety and the chance to develop within a dynamic, multi-site business. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing sales ledger processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Posting daily banking transactions
* Processing and reconciling incoming payments
* Monitoring and maintaining customer accounts (debtors)
* Carrying out credit control duties, including chasing overdue payments and resolving queries
* Ensuring accurate and timely posting of transactions to the general ledger
* Managing ad hoc financial duties including staff expenses, parking fines, and speeding fines
* Liaising with internal departments to resolve customer account issues
* Assisting with month-end close procedures and reconciliations
* Supporting the finance team with continuous improvement initiatives
The role may also include additional duties as reasonably requested by the Senior Accounts Assistant. Responsibilities may evolve in line with business needs.
About You
* Ideally experienced within a retail automotive environment
* Strong IT skills, including good Excel knowledge familiarity with Keyloop Drive or Rev8.35 Dealer Management System would be advantageous
* Experience working within a robust financial environment, ideally across multiple sites
* Ability to take ownership of tasks and manage a varied workload across several branches
* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving
* Strong communication skills with confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders
* Eager to learn, develop new skills, and take on increasing responsibility
