About the Role
Our client, a reputable law firm based in Wokingham, is seeking an experienced Senior Private Client Solicitor to join their Wills and Inheritance Team. This role is ideal for a dedicated legal professional with a strong background in tax and estate planning, particularly for high-net-worth individuals.
As the successful candidate, you will collaborate with the Head of Department while managing your own caseload, which includes drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and providing Inheritance Tax Planning advice. You will also handle matters related to elderly clients. In this position, you will take on leadership responsibilities, guiding and mentoring junior team members, while actively participating in business development initiatives to enhance the firm’s profile.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with over 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) who is eager to take the next step in their career and contribute to the growth of the private client team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage a diverse caseload of private client matters, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Inheritance Tax Planning.
*Collaborate with the Head of Department on tax and estate planning projects for high-net-worth clients.
*Lead and mentor junior members of the team, fostering their professional development.
*Engage in business development and networking activities to promote the firm and its services.
*Assist in the overall management of the department, supporting Partners with strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
*A minimum of 8 years PQE in private client law, with a strong focus on Wills and Inheritance.
*Demonstrable expertise in tax and estate planning, particularly for high-net-worth individuals.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
*Strong business development skills and a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities.
*Leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and support junior team members.
*A self-motivated attitude, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
