Finance Manager
£375–£425 per day (Inside IR35, umbrella)
6-month contract (extension likely)
Central London (hybrid)
We’re partnering with a VC-backed technology and biosciences business operating in a high-growth, innovation-led environment. They need a hands-on Finance Manager to bring structure, rigour and operational leadership to the finance function. You’ll own core processes including management accounts, payroll, VAT, intercompany accounting and financial controls, delivering accurate, timely reporting to support decision-making. This is a BAU-focused role with real scope to improve processes — particularly around a new entity and AP workflows — helping the business scale effectively.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare monthly management accounts (journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations).
*Lead intercompany accounting and multi-entity reporting, including supporting new entity process build-out.
*Oversee payroll and benefits (commissions, pensions, payroll journals, P11D).
*Manage VAT returns and regulatory submissions, alongside US tax submissions.
*Oversee AP, payment runs and expenses, driving efficiency improvements.
*Strengthen financial controls, cash flow visibility and month-end processes.
*Partner cross-functionally to support operational decision-making.
*Support systems enhancements and automation initiatives.
You’ll bring strong finance operations experience from a fast-moving or scaling environment, with the confidence to step straight into BAU while identifying improvements. Solid Xero and payroll experience is essential, alongside strong Excel capability and a working knowledge of VAT and intercompany accounting. You’ll be structured, analytical and comfortable leading junior team members, working cross-functionally and producing clear, concise reporting for senior stakeholders. Experience across multi-entity groups and process build-out for new entities will be highly advantageous.
