Our client is seeking a motivated Commercial Litigation Solicitor with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience to join their dynamic firm. Key Responsibilities:
As a Commercial Litigation Solicitor, you will be responsible for:
*Delivering high-quality dispute resolution and litigation advice to clients, addressing a wide range of commercial disputes.
*Taking client instructions and conducting thorough investigations and analyses of factual and legal issues.
*Advising clients on dispute merits and strategy, as well as obtaining witness evidence.
*Instructing counsel and experts, and preparing for hearings, including advocacy when appropriate.
*Preparing written submissions and ensuring effective communication with clients, witnesses, and other parties.
*Meeting procedural deadlines set by courts or other tribunals and advising on Alternative Dispute Resolution methods, including mediation.
*Contributing to the marketing of the firm’s litigation services and supporting business development initiatives.
Financial Responsibilities:
*Achieving chargeable hours and other financial targets while managing client matters and controlling disbursements.
Regulatory Compliance:
*Adhering to all internal regulations and professional obligations as mandated by the Law Society and Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Training and Development:
*Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in line with industry standards.
Key Attributes:
*Education: Law degree or equivalent (preferably 2:1), CPE (if applicable), and LPC; or SQE qualified.
*Experience: A minimum of one litigation seat involving commercial disputes during your training contract. Proficiency in drafting court proceedings and witness statements, alongside experience in contract issues, is essential.
*Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, excellent analytical and legal research skills, and the capacity to communicate effectively across different audiences. Proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office and case management systems, is also required.
*Team Player: A personable and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and values teamwork.
Travel Requirements:
*Willingness to travel between the firm’s offices, client locations, courts, and other relevant venues as necessary. A valid driver’s licence and access to a car are desirable.
