Desian Education is currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with autism in a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Oxton.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by providing tailored, consistent, and person-centred support.
This is a full-time role supporting 8.30am-3.30pm.
The Role:
*Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism, both inside and outside the classroom.
*Implement and adapt strategies to support communication, learning, and social development.
*Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to follow and contribute to the child’s EHCP.
*Use visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies where appropriate.
*Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that promotes independence and confidence.


You Will Need:
*Experience supporting children with autism or additional needs (preferred).
*A calm, resilient, and flexible approach.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils and staff.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
