Job Description:
Reed Technology is partnering with a prestigious Edinburgh-based organisation to recruit a GIS Consultant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their GIS expertise within a supportive and technically progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the development, integration, and maintenance of the company’s GIS applications while growing your own technical experience and knowledge base.
*Administer cloud-hosted web GIS platforms to ensure reliable, high-quality service delivery.
*Assist in migrating the organisation’s spatial data into PostGIS and GeoServer.
*Apply and further develop skills in spatial analysis, cartography, and data management to deliver GIS services across multiple business streams.
*Contribute to the successful delivery of internal and external projects, maintaining a professional and client-focused approach.
Requirements
*Experience using QGIS or ArcGIS Pro in an academic or professional setting.
*Awareness or exposure to ArcGIS Online / Experience Builder in academic or professional work.
*Understanding of core GIS data management principles.
*Hands-on experience handling and managing spatial datasets in an academic or professional environment.
*Demonstrated ability to create technically accurate, visually engaging maps that communicate insights and support decision-making.
*Experience performing spatial analysis to answer questions and inform decisions in an academic or professional context.

*12-month FTC with a salary of up to £35,000 per year (DOE)
*Hybrid working model – 2 days per week on-site in Edinburgh
