Communication Support Worker (BSL) – Knowsley


*£35–£40+ per hour (depending on experience)
*Full-time & Part-time hours available

About the Role
*Are you passionate about supporting Deaf, Deafened, and Hard of Hearing students to achieve their full potential?
*Do you hold BSL Level 3 or above and want to make a meaningful difference in Further Education?
*Reed Further Education are seeking skilled Communication Support Workers (CSWs) to support learners at a leading FE college in Uxbridge. You will provide high-quality communication support both in and out of the classroom, ensuring students can fully engage with their studies and college life.


What You’ll Be Doing
*Providing in-class and out-of-class support for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing students
*Using BSL, note-taking, lip-speaking, or adapted materials to aid understanding
*Encouraging student independence and communication skills
*Adapting learning materials to ensure accessibility
*Supporting students during exams, reviews, and safeguarding or academic meetings
*Working collaboratively with tutors and the ALS team
*Assisting with enrolment and induction to help students settle into college smoothly


What We’re Looking For
*British Sign Language Level 3 or above
*Experience supporting individuals with hearing impairment
*Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
*Minimum GCSEs (A–C / Level 2) in English and Maths
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
