We’re recruiting three Strategic Account Management (SAM) Research Coordinators to support the delivery of high quality intelligence, research and coordination across the region’s most strategically important organisations. Who Are We?
The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the region’s economic development delivery organisation.
From April 2026, we will lead the delivery of regionally commissioned economic development activity aligned to the West Midlands Growth Plan, working in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and local authorities.

The Role
As a SAM Research Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting Strategic Account Managers and senior leaders by producing high quality research, intelligence and data to guide engagement with the region’s most strategically important organisations. You’ll help ensure that decision making is informed, engagement is coordinated, and intelligence is accurate and accessible. What You’ll Be Doing
*Conduct structured research into strategic businesses using multiple sources and AI tools.
*Maintain intelligence profiles, organisational priorities and key contacts.
*Track and log engagement activity across internal and external partners.
*Prepare clear, concise briefing notes to support SAM Leads.
*Support the development, coordination and tracking of account plans.
*Identify data gaps and inconsistencies, resolving them proactively.
*Work collaboratively with internal teams to gather relevant insights.
*Support continuous improvement of research, tracking and CRM processes.
About You
You are naturally curious, analytical and proactive. You enjoy digging into information, discovering insights and turning research into useful intelligence.
Essential
*Background in research, business intelligence or analysis.
*Strong written communication skills.
*Confident using digital tools and AI enabled research platforms. Enabled research platforms.
*High attention to detail, accuracy and organisation.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
*Strong internal relationship building skills. Building skills.
Desirable
*Journalism or research related qualification. Related qualification.
*Experience using CRM or data tracking systems.
