This role is ideal for someone who is proactive and hands-on, ready to transition previously outsourced accounting duties to an in-house function. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our accounting operations, particularly focusing on tax refunds and compliance with HMRC guidelines.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage the accounting functions across a group of businesses.
*Handle traditional accounting responsibilities while providing broader tax insights to support business operations.
*Assist in the development of new tax-related products and source external advice when necessary.
*Apply a strong understanding of HMRC guidelines to ensure all services are fully compliant.
*Identify opportunities to improve or expand the tax reclaim services offered by the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Substantial experience in a comparable accounting role.
*Proficiency in Xero and Excel.
*Strong understanding of HMRC guidelines and tax operations.
*Ability to manage accounting functions independently and transition from outsourced to in-house processes.
*Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop new tax-related products.
Interview Process:
*Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CVs and invited for a first-stage interview, potentially via Teams.
*Successful candidates from the first stage will be invited for a second-stage face-to-face interview.
