Job Description:
Senior Mechanical & Robotics Engineer - Innovative Leader, Join a Global Engineering Company
Are you an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong robotics mindset and a flair for automation? Do you thrive in dynamic, multinational settings where you’re shaping the next generation of manufacturing and automation solutions? If so, this could be the perfect career move for you.
About the Opportunity
Our client is a forward-looking global engineering and automation firm specialising in high-precision manufacturing, advanced robotics integration, and turnkey automation systems for blue-chip OEMs across automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
As a Senior Mechanical & Robotics Engineer, you’ll be a senior technical lead, integrating mechanical design, automation architecture and robotics systems to deliver cutting-edge solutions that our OEM clients depend upon.
Senior Mechanical & Robotics Engineer - Why this role stands out for you
*You’re an engineer who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, robotics/automation, and system integration.
*You’re comfortable working across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, controls) with a hands-on mentality and a strategic mindset.
*You’ve delivered factory-automation and robotics projects end-to-end (from concept through to commissioning) or you’re ready to take that leap.
*You have strong technical leadership skills and are excited about mentoring a team and interfacing with senior stakeholders internationally.
*You’re excited by variety: multiple projects, international venues, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to new technologies.
*You have excellent English communication skills.
*You’re looking for the next step in your career where you can take ownership of mechanical/robotic subsystems, influence system architecture, and deliver real value in automation for world-class manufacturing platforms.
Senior Mechanical & Robotics Engineer - Key Responsibilities
*Lead mechanical and robotics/automation system design for turnkey manufacturing solutions-working with internal and external robotics integrators, mechatronics engineers, and OEM clients.
*Define and validate mechanical, structural and automation design concepts; support risk assessment and design reviews.
*Collaborate with controls and software teams to define robot kinematics, cell layout, safety systems and integration interfaces.
*Oversee prototyping, machine build, factory acceptance tests (FATs), and on-site commissioning (domestic & international). Travel may be involved.
*Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small team of mechanical/automation engineers-fostering best practices, design standards and continuous improvement.
*Work with business development teams to support proposals, technical scopes, and client presentations as needed.
Senior Mechanical & Robotics Engineer - We’re looking for someone with:
*A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or equivalent.
*Several years’ experience (ideally 5-10+) in mechanical/automation design within manufacturing or robotics/automation integration environments.
*Proven track record (or desire) of working with industrial robots, cell layout, automation systems, conveyors, fixtures and machine structures.
*Hands-on design experience (solid modelling, FEA or structural design), and ability to abstract into system-level architecture.
*Excellent communication skills, ability to liaise with multiple disciplines, clients and senior stakeholders.
*A proactive, curious mindset and a thirst for driving improvement and innovation in automation systems.
