Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) / Teacher | Blackpool APLocation: Blackpool, Lancashire (FY1/FY2/FY3 area) Salary: £36,000 - £49,500 per annum (Band 6/7 Equivalent + SEN Allowance) Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Term-Time Only available) Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
The Role: Integrating Therapy and TeachingAre you a Speech and Language Therapist looking to escape the clinic and make a frontline impact in a classroom setting? Our Alternative Provision (AP) in Blackpool is seeking a unique professional to step into a Speech and Language Therapist Teacher role.
In this position, you won’t just be "visiting" a school; you will be an integral part of our teaching faculty. You will lead communication-based learning for young people in Blackpool with complex SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, ensuring that every lesson is accessible and every voice is heard.
Key Responsibilities*Classroom-Based Therapy: Deliver "embedded therapy" where communication goals are met through active, curriculum-based teaching.

*Specialist Assessment: Identify and support SLCN (Speech, Language, and Communication Needs) within our Blackpool AP pupil population.

*Teacher Mentoring: Act as a lead consultant for our teaching staff, upskilling them in "Total Communication" environments and de-escalation through language.

*EHCP Management: Contribute clinical expertise to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews.

What We Are Looking ForWe need a hybrid thinker who understands both the NHS clinical framework and the Blackpool educational landscape.
*Qualifications: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC Registration is mandatory.

*Education Experience: Previous experience working as an SLT in a school, PRU, or Alternative Provision is highly desirable.
