Job Description:
The Company
A UK-based, multi-award-winning venture capital firm operating across the deeptech, healthcare, and sustainability sectors in the UK, EU, and US. The firm combines balance sheet investment with a syndication model, incorporating High Net Worth individuals and IFAs through the EIS channel, alongside family offices and global corporates.
The firm has experienced a period of rapid growth, scaling from £4m to over £100m in AUM since 2020, and is now targeting its next stage of growth to £200m. With over 70 portfolio companies, the firm has established itself as a leader in the UK deeptech space and is looking to increase its fundraising capacity to capitalise on opportunities from both within and outside of its current portfolio.
The Role
As the firm continues to grow its VC practice, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Investor Relations Manager to join on a full-time basis. This is a high-visibility fundraising role with responsibility for originating, managing, and closing investment commitments from High Net Worth and family office investors.
The team is collaborative, dynamic, and high-performing, and is looking for a self-starter who can take on responsibility quickly and operate with minimal supervision to help shape the firm’s next phase of growth.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Management and Business Development teams to strengthen and support interactions with Ultra/High Net Worth and family office investors. They will also gain unique exposure to an exciting portfolio, with the opportunity to learn and develop rapidly across multiple areas of the business.
This is a role with substantial scope to grow alongside the organisation, reflecting the firm’s ongoing expansion and increasing fundraising ambitions.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a sales role within the EIS/tax-efficient space, either in-house or as a broker. Candidates from outside this space will also be considered, providing they have direct investment sales experience with Ultra/High Net Worth investors. A genuine passion for innovation and technology — particularly across life sciences, sustainability, and industrials — is important.
Responsibilities
*Raising capital from High Net Worth individuals via EIS, CLAs, and secondary opportunities into direct or diversified fund vehicles
*Working with the broader team to map out fundraising opportunities
*Supporting the deal origination team in developing the investment readiness of portfolio companies
*Supporting the development of the fundraising platform and infrastructure
*Working closely with the research, portfolio management, and management services teams
Requirements
*Proven experience in a similar role
*A scientific degree or equivalent would be advantageous
*RDR Level 4 qualifications (or equivalent) preferable
*Demonstrable track record of fundraising via EIS, with experience in life sciences and deeptech advantageous
*Demonstrable experience building an investor book from origination through to closing
*Professional and eloquent communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Diligent CRM management, ideally with Salesforce experience
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office
