Job Description:
Debbie Burbage Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client, who is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join this busy legal firm based in Milton Keynes. Initially, a 6-month Fixed Term Contract role with hybrid working.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Finance function, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellent service to both internal colleagues and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
*Preparing and issuing accurate sales invoices in a timely manner
*Processing and inputting purchase ledger invoices, ensuring financial records are maintained correctly
*Allocating receipts across multiple bank accounts
*Managing the efficient processing of payments
*Reviewing, approving and processing staff expense claims in line with company policy
*Responding promptly and professionally to ad hoc queries from colleagues and suppliers via email
*Producing accounts related documentation, including cheques and supporting information
*Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality in relation to financial and client information
The Candidate:
We are seeking an individual with experience working within a Finance department, ideally within legal or professional services. The successful candidate will be familiar with online business banking platforms and associated banking transactions and will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong IT capability is essential, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a good working knowledge of Excel. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling numerical data is critical, alongside excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively. The role requires someone who can work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, especially during the month-end and financial year-end periods. Confidence in communication is important, with the ability to liaise professionally at senior levels and with both internal and external stakeholders.
Previous work within a law firm, experience reporting on and investigating financial queries, a working knowledge of VAT, and an understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules. Experience using legal accounts software would be beneficial.
Remuneration
*£ Competitive per annum, depending on Experience
*24 days holiday plus statutory days
*Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week – Hybrid working
