Job Description:
Technical Sales Engineer - Location: St Helens with travel -Salary: £40,000 Plus Bonus, Pension and Benefits
If you are a problem-solver who enjoys the variety of switching between technical solutions and a hands-on site evaluation, this is the role for you. You won’t be following a script-you’ll be the technical heartbeat of the sales process, turning complex requirements into reality.
Based in St Helens, this role is a key technical-commercial hybrid. You will bridge the gap between engineering and the customer, providing expert guidance on complex engineered systems for land and marine applications.
The Role
*Technical Lead: Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout the sales cycle, translating customer requirements into viable system architectures.
*Demonstrations & Training: Deliver product presentations and hands-on training at our dedicated facility in St Helens.
*Commercial Support: Assist the sales team with technical specifications, tender responses, and quotations.
*Site Engagement: Conduct site visits for system evaluations and troubleshooting, ensuring successful project handovers.
*Market Insight: Identify growth opportunities and represent the company at industry trade shows.
Requirements
*Background: Ideally HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
*Experience: Proven track record in technical sales, applications engineering, or a high-level technical support role.
*Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and system schematics.
*Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
*Flexibility: Willing to travel for customer visits and site support as required.
