Job Summary
The discipline of Account Management exists to create an environment for great work to thrive. Account Management sets the tone, pace and means of working. Account people have to weigh and balance client needs with agency ambitions to determine the vision and then make sure everyone is clear on that vision and how to get there.
Despite the title, Account Management doesn’t manage accounts; they ultimately drive businesses. The Account Manager’s focus is to drive the work forward with flawless execution.
Essential Functions
? Lead small- and mid-sized projects from start to finish and be seen as the client go-to on a project basis
? Offer a sound, strategic POV on projects
? Learn how to lead and grow others on the team
? Ensure account logistics are flawlessly managed, from schedules to budgets to talent to legal approvals
? Anticipate needs and provide proactive solutions that keep us one step ahead ? Ensure the team stays on top of and informed on contextual, competitive and business landscapes ? Cultivate a relationship with key day-to-day clients
? Work with the Account Supervisor or Account Director to ensure key projects/tasks have clear objectives, aligned owners and timing, and then execute against those tasks and objectives
? When there is an Associate Account Manager on the team, the Account Manager will have oversight of their output and manage them with generosity, ensuring their growth
? Support the Account Supervisor/Account Director on larger-scale productions while also learning and gaining experience along the way
? Ensure legal and network reviews happen at the right times
? Demonstrate impeccable attention to detail in all facets of the job, from proofreading emails to partnering with production to ensure that every detail is considered, double-checked and approved internally before releasing work
? Have the ability to fully own entire small- and mid-sized projects end to end with minimal oversight from the Account Supervisor or Account Director, including managing clients and the internal team
? Demonstrate an understanding of creative strategy and use it to evaluate and defend work when needed
? Be the team’s informer on the client’s category, effectively managing the Account Director to filter industry news and provide insights that could influence the work and help the entire team be smarter
? Take responsibility for internal production, finding efficiencies by navigating through the process with a full understanding of how things get made in all channels
