Charity Recruitment is currently hiring for a permanent Head of Finance and Infrastructure, to join a children’s charity based in Guildford. This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Finance leader to work within a well-established organisation dedicated to making a difference. This is an office-based role.
As the Head of Finance and Infrastructure, you will take full responsibility for financial management across the organisation, overseeing budgeting, production of management accounts, cash flow forecasting, year-end processes, and external audits. Ensuring regulatory compliance at all times. The Head of Finance and Infrastructure will present accurate and accessible financial information to non-finance managers, enabling confident and informed decisions.
Working closely with senior leadership, the Head of Finance and Infrastructure will lead projects and provide clear, insightful advice on financial and operational performance to inform strategic decision-making. As Head of Finance and Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction and long-term sustainability of the charity.
In the role of Head of Finance and Infrastructure, you will support income generation, provide financial input into funding bids and grant applications, as well as oversee financial reporting to funders. With responsibility for treasury and cash management, the Head of Finance and Infrastructure will lead liquidity planning, manage banking and investment relationships, oversee fund allocation, and contribute to the development of treasury strategy to safeguard financial sustainability. Working closely with Trustees and the CEO, the Head of Finance and Infrastructure will support strong financial governance and risk management.
Leadership is central to this position. The Head of Finance and Infrastructure will provide day-to-day line management to the finance and maintenance teams. In addition, the Head of Finance and Infrastructure will work in close partnership with operational leaders, strengthening financial awareness across the organisation and evaluating new projects, funding and opportunities.
Experience:
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with significant post qualification experience
Proven management experience within a senior financial role, preferably as Head of Finance or equivalent.
Extensive knowledge of financial management principles, including accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
Experience of developing and implementing strategic and business plans.
