We’re looking for an experienced HR Policy Advisor to join our People Services team on a temporary. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on delivering high-quality HR advice, employee relations, managing policy updates, and supporting organisational change initiatives. Based in Birmingham City Centre, you will be required to be in the Office one day a week.

Description
*Lead the review, development, and maintenance of people policies, ensuring alignment with legislation, regulatory expectations, and internal governance procedures.
*Manage the full lifecycle of employee relations casework, applying professional expertise, identifying risks, and advising on compliant and proportionate actions.
*Maintain and manage the organisation’s policy review schedule, ensuring timely updates, clear ownership, and effective communication across the business.
*Work closely with the Policy Working Group and key stakeholders to provide evidence-based recommendations for policy improvement.
*Use people data, survey insights, and audit findings to identify trends and strengthen policy effectiveness, accessibility, and assurance.
*Support policy consultation and implementation with our recognised trade union.
*Identify opportunities to enhance self-service resources and guidance to build organisational confidence and capability.
*Contribute to the delivery of change projects such as the Competency Framework and Wellbeing Framework, ensuring policies support clear, consistent, and legally compliant practice.
Profile
*Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
*Proven experience of reviewing and updating policies.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Flexible and adaptable approach to managing priorities.
*CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) desirable.
