Job Description:
Charity Recruitment is currently hiring for a Head of Human Resources, to join a children’s charity based in Guildford. This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced HR leader to work within a well-established organisation dedicated to making a difference. This is an office-based role.
As the Head of Human Resources, you will report to the CEO, overseeing all aspects of HR, working closely with the Head of Finance, Head of Care, Head of Fundraising and Board of Trustees. The Head of Human Resources will act as a strategic partner across the organisation, ensuring best practice people management and organisational development. You will be the primary point of contact for employee relations matters. You will lead the full recruitment lifecycle in line with Safer Recruitment guidance, including screening, interviewing, selection and onboarding. You will conduct regular one-to-one meetings to manage performance and workload, and as the Head of Human Resources, you will lead personal development planning and annual appraisals.
As the Head of Human Resources, you will actively contribute as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team to the development and implementation of organisational strategy. Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition and retention strategies, identify skills gaps, and lead workforce development, training programmes and career progression initiatives. As the Head of Human Resources, you will develop, review and update HR policies to ensure full compliance with employment legislation. You will also contribute to income and expenditure budget planning and management.
Experience
Minimum of 3 year’s HR leadership experience with confidence across a broad range of HR functions.
Significant senior management experience within a comparable organisation.
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures relating to children.
Experience using HR systems (Bright HR) and payroll/performance management tools.
