Finance Assistant — WAWWA Limited
WAWWA is a sustainable clothing brand manufacturing everything in-house in Manchester. We’re a team of 28 and growing fast. Right now our finance function sits too heavily with one person — we’re hiring someone to take ownership of it day-to-day.
This is a hands-on role with real autonomy, a direct line to the Managing Director, and a genuine path to grow with the business. We’ll fund your professional qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) if you’re working towards them.
What you’ll be doing:
Day-to-day you’ll own the operational finance function — payment runs, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping, and cash flow tracking. Monthly you’ll process payroll for ~28 staff, manage pension contributions, handle product cost accounting, and create and update staff contracts. Quarterly you’ll prepare and submit VAT returns and support budgeting cycles. Annually you’ll work alongside our part-time Finance Director on statutory submissions, R&D tax credit claims, grant applications, and insurance renewals.
What we need:
You don’t need to be qualified, but you do need to be organised, numerate, and comfortable working autonomously. Xero experience is a bonus. What matters most is that you’re the kind of person who notices when something’s off and goes and sorts it.
