Bookeeper/Accounts Assistant – (Property Accounts)
Location: Burgess Hill, Mid Sussex
Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 5:30pm
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 (DOE)
An established and highly regarded independent property business is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their Property/Block Management Accounts team in Burgess Hill.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid accounts experience who is looking to develop their career within property management finance.
The Role
You will support the Property/Block Management departments and gradually take ownership of your own portfolio. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and delivering a high standard of service to clients and property managers.
Key Responsibilities
*Bank reconciliations
*Raising and issuing service charge and ground rent invoices
*Supporting preparation of year-end accounts alongside external accountants
*Assisting Property Managers with budgets
*Debtors management and credit control
*Liaising with leaseholders, clients, and contractors regarding account queries
About You
*Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role (essential)
*Property/block management accounts experience (preferred)
*AAT qualification (desirable)
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
*Confident communicator via phone and email
*Experience with service charge accounting (advantageous)
*QUBE software knowledge (highly desirable)
