Job Description:
Ready for Your Next Big Career Move?
We’re looking for a strategic, relationship-driven and commercially focused Senior PWM Account Manager to join the West Midlands Growth Company. If you excel at managing senior-level partnerships, driving commercial value, and strengthening relationships across the private sector, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth of the region.
Who Are We?
The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the region’s economic development delivery organisation.
From April 2026, we will lead the delivery of regionally commissioned economic development activity aligned to the West Midlands Growth Plan, working in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and local authorities.
We are building a sharper, business-focused organisation that attracts investment, supports high-growth companies and drives measurable economic impact.
If you want your work to shape how growth is delivered across one of the UK’s most important regions, this is your opportunity.
The Role:
As our new Senior PWM Account Manager, you will lead strategic partner relationships within the Partners West Midlands (PWM) programme, managing a high-value portfolio of private sector organisations across key regional sectors including BPFS, built environment, digital, technology and advanced manufacturing.
Acting as a trusted advisor at C-Suite level, you will ensure every partner receives a high-quality, tailored experience that aligns their ambitions with regional growth priorities. You’ll oversee partner engagement, ensure delivery of benefits, support commercial objectives, and ensure PWM partners feel connected, informed and deeply invested in the success of the region.
This is a pivotal role with real commercial and strategic impact — supporting the ambition to make the West Midlands a destination of choice for investment, talent and economic opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
*Serve as the primary relationship lead for a portfolio of high-profile PWM partners across priority sectors.
*Hold regular senior-level account reviews, identifying opportunities for deeper engagement and enhanced value.
*Maintain a strong understanding of partner priorities, sector challenges, market conditions and regional growth opportunities.
*Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new partners receive a consistent, high-quality introduction to PWM.
*Track partner participation across activities and programmes, ensuring tangible and measurable benefits are delivered.
*Produce impact summaries and ROI-focused updates that evidence value and progress against partner objectives.
*Lead renewal conversations, showcasing programme impact and identifying future opportunities.
*Support the partnership pipeline by sharing intelligence, making introductions and identifying prospective partners.
*Collaborate with investment, marketing, events and sector teams to coordinate partner involvement in key opportunities.
*Represent PWM at partner meetings, external events and business forums across the region.
*Maintain accurate CRM records and produce regular performance reporting, including forecasting and risk identification.
What You’ll Bring:
Essential:
*Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in the private sector.
*At least 3 years’ senior account management experience working with C-Suite stakeholders.
*Proven track record delivering commercial income and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
*Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
*Strong commercial awareness and ability to align partner objectives with organisational strategy.
*Highly self-motivated, proactive and results-driven, with the ability to take ownership of success.
*Excellent organisational skills with experience managing CRM records and performance reporting.
*Strong written, presentation and pitching abilities.
*Ability to identify opportunities, develop proposals and drive value for partners.
Desirable:
*Good understanding of the West Midlands policy and economic landscape.
*Experience using data and insights to inform decisions and maximise commercial impact.
*Background in project or programme delivery.
*Experience with market research, data analysis or insight-driven decision-making.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
*26 days holiday
*Company pension scheme including life assurance
*Hybrid working with 2 days in the office
*Cycle to work
*Simple Health employee membership scheme
Salary: £56,700 per annum
