Job Title: Brake Press Setter / Operator
Location: Lancing, West Sussex
Salary: £16.00 per hour (£33,280 per annum) + Overtime availability
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Brake Press Setter/Operator to join our clients Sheet Metal / Metal Fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to fabricate or modify metal parts according to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
*Set up and operate brake press machinery safely and efficiently
*Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
*Select, install, and align appropriate tooling and dies
*Adjust machine settings for speed, material thickness, and bend angle
*Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
*Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment issues
*Maintain a clean and organized work area
*Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
Requirements:
*Proven experience as a Brake Press Setter/Operator
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
*Strong attention to detail and quality control
*Familiarity with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
*Capable of working independently and as part of a team
*Good physical condition - able to lift and handle materials as required
Desirable:
*Experience with CNC brake press machines (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, etc.)
*Relevant vocational training or engineering/manufacturing qualifications
