Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in London for a Finance Officer to join the Home Ownership team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be required to undertake various financial, administrative and accounting tasks while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
*Investigate any variances and undertake any reconciliations necessary.
*Analyse transactions and present results in a logical and coherent format.
*Process payments that do not follow preferred payment process through IBC, including compensations and refunds.
*Assist with supplier queries and promptly resolve any issues raised.
*Lead on allocation of unallocated income.
*Assist in resolving customer finance related queries.
*Proactively manage and provide financial support to the business.
*Process journals and undertake other administrative tasks as required.
*Contribute to and assist in the day-to-day business of Home Ownership as required.
*Carry out finance-related duties, as directed by the Income and Litigation team manager.
CandidateCriteria
*Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to policies in relation to Equal Opportunity, Customer Care and service delivery.
*Experience working as part of a finance team, and in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with ability to work to standards and deadlines.
*Ability to work as a team to support and improve financial processes, controls and transactions.
*Great interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with colleagues and customers.
*Proficient in IT, particularly Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office packages.
*Detailed knowledge of financial services legislation, and awareness of latest governmental/HMRC guidelines.
*Knowledge of landlord and tenant act, and relevant housing legislation.
*Ability to liaise professionally at all levels with staff and public.
