An established and highly respected organisation is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join its Financial Accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of key financial processes, lead improvement initiatives, and contribute to the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across the organisation.
This role sits within a forward-thinking, supportive environment that values professionalism, development, and continuous improvement.
This role can pay a salary £47,810-£54,710 and only requires candidates to be in the office once every 3 months.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
*Oversee and maintain the organisation’s Chart of Accounts and reporting structures
*Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of financial information
*Lead financial improvement projects, including automation and controls enhancement
*Manage and support junior staff within the Financial Accounts team
*Prepare and review working papers and submissions for external reporting requirements
*Support monthly and annual reporting, including statutory accounts
*Investigate and resolve complex financial discrepancies
*Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors
*Provide expert support to transactional finance teams
*Develop and maintain procedure notes and best-practice standards
*Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous learning
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
*CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent)
*Strong experience in financial accounting within a large or complex organisation
*Working knowledge of IFRS
*Highly proficient in Excel, including VBA
*Proven supervisory/line management experience
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
*Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
*Highly organised, able to meet strict monthly and annual deadlines
*Demonstrates values of professionalism, collaboration and excellence
Desirable:
*Experience within public sector or charity finance
*Audit experience
*Knowledge of Oracle, SQL or Power BI
*Experience working with internal and external auditors
