Job Description:
Cleaning Operative
*Hourly Rate: £13.62
*Location: Sheffield
*Job Type: 34 hours per week, temp contract
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join our team, responsible for the operational delivery of cleaning services across various buildings in the city. This role requires compliance with health and safety standards and effective communication with customers and supervisors.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas, using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment as per health and safety guidelines.
*Perform a variety of cleaning tasks including sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, vacuum cleaning, polishing, and dusting as required by the site.
*Drive a city council vehicle to different sites as required, ensuring compliance with the Drivers Handbook and SCC driving licence checking process.
*Utilise specific ICT systems and devices to carry out duties as directed.
*Engage in specialist or deep cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing and scrubbing when needed.
*Report any damage or defects to the Supervisor or designated officer.
*Work independently or as part of a team to deliver effective cleaning services.
*Liaise with site staff, supervisors, and line managers as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a cleaning role, with a good understanding of health and safety regulations.
*Ability to use various cleaning equipment and materials effectively.
*Valid driving licence and ability to drive a city council vehicle.
*Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
*Flexibility to work different routes and sites around the city.
*Willingness to work weekends on a rotational basis (1 in every 4 weeks).
